Sheila Hicks

Sheila Hicks is an artist who has been exploring the idea of art intersected with crafts and architecture for over 50 years. Writer Leslie Camhi describes her as a “classically trained modernist — a global artist before the term was fashionable — who adopted the language of textiles as her primary medium and expanded it exponentially.”

The 76 year old artist is currently being showcased at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. “Sheila Hicks:50 Years” continues through August 7.
